Jews of Color (JOC)-Led Evaluation

Tiyuv (טִיוּב) is a JOC-led evaluation firm dedicated to strengthening racial justice work across Jewish and BIPOC organizational settings. Rooted in the Hebrew concept of tiyuv (improvement), our work centers on rigorous, equity-driven program evaluation that honors the cultural, historical, and relational contexts in which programs operate. We specialize in measuring equity impact to transform evaluation from a tool of gatekeeping into a practice of justice and liberation.

Our Mission

Reclaiming Program Evaluation as a Practice of Liberation

Our Mission reflects this commitment: Tiyuv exists to transform evaluation from a mechanism of gatekeeping into a practice of justice and liberation. We advance culturally responsive evaluation led by Jews of Color, cultivating approaches that honor lived experience, foster accountability, and generate knowledge rooted in equity and community transformation.

We believe evaluation is not just about measurement; it's about strengthening the power of communities to lead their own change and provide genuine support for BIPOC-led organization program evaluation through a culturally responsive evaluation practice.

Our Vision & Values

The Foundation of Our Work

Our Vision looks beyond programs and data toward a broader horizon, where evaluation becomes a liberatory practice that uplifts BIPOC wisdom, nurtures leadership across communities, and catalyzes systemic change. In this future, evaluation is a tool for belonging and dignity, supporting communities as they thrive on their own terms.

Together, our mission and vision provide the foundation for Tiyuv's work: equipping new generations of evaluators, strengthening partnerships across Jewish and BIPOC ecosystems, and reclaiming evaluation for justice, accountability, and transformation.

Rooted in Jewish Wisdom

Jews of Color led
  • Chesed, חֶסֶד (loving-kindness and deep care): We show active commitment to one another, to our mission, and to the communities we serve by cultivating relationships grounded in care, generosity, and presence.

  • Anavah, עֲנָוָה (humility and shared wisdom): We recognize that each person brings unique insights and lived experiences. We lead with humility, create space for all voices, and center collective wisdom in our work.

  • Tzedek צֶדֶק (justice and integrity): We align our strategies, programs, and partnerships with a commitment to justice, transparency, and accountability, ensuring that our actions are in service of equity and liberation.
